Two Outreach Opportunities: To Embrace & To Build

Outreach to Embrace

Next Monday, Oct. 20, we will head downtown to serve dinner for the homeless at Embrace Church. We’ll also eat with them and then lead their worship gathering for them with music and testimony. Let me know if you and/or your student wants to participate. Send your RSVP to Tanner at tannerf@faclex.com. Please indicate if you can drive and how many seats you will have available. We’ll touch base at FAC to carpool on Monday at 5:00 and return to FAC by 8:30 (1015 N Limestone, Lexington).

Outreach to Build

My good friend, Randy Hardman, with whom I went to seminary and who has spoken for our Youth, needs our help. Last year his wife was killed in a car accident and now he is a single father of two boys, working full-time on a ministry salary and trying to live life as though it were normal for him–it is not normal for him. James might tell us in this situation that “pure and undefiled religion before God…looks like this: to care for the orphans and window[ers]” (Ja. 1:27). So that’s what we’re going to do.

I need all hands on deck, Saturday, Nov. 8, to help Randy build a privacy fence. Dads, this would be a great opportunity for you to serve with your kids in a way that may be more natural to you than other ways of serving are. We need both guys and gals, though, because we’ll need help watching the kids while we work. We’ll begin at 8:30 AM and continue till we’re finished. Stay for as long or as little as you can. Lunch will be provided. Send your RSVP to tannerf@faclex.com to RSVP. Randy lives in Wilmore. You’ll receive a response confirmation with his address upon RSVPing.

Blessings!

Jeremy
