Outreach to Build
My good friend, Randy Hardman, with whom I went to seminary and who has spoken for our Youth, needs our help. Last year his wife was killed in a car accident and now he is a single father of two boys, working full-time on a ministry salary and trying to live life as though it were normal for him–it is not normal for him. James might tell us in this situation that “pure and undefiled religion before God…looks like this: to care for the orphans and window[ers]” (Ja. 1:27). So that’s what we’re going to do.
I need all hands on deck, Saturday, Nov. 8, to help Randy build a privacy fence (8:00 am – 5:00 pm–if you can’t be there the whole time, that is okay). Dads, this would be a great opportunity for you to serve with your kids in a way that may be more natural to you than other ways of serving are. We need both guys and gals, though, because we’ll need help watching the kids while we work. Stay for as long or as little as you can. Lunch will be provided. Send your RSVP by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or texting 336-689-9635. Randy lives in Wilmore: 119 Brookwood Ln.
