This year we are reaching out to our community in a unique way through a connection made at Embrace, where we serve the homeless once a month (third Monday of each month). The basic concept is this: low income families turn in Christmas lists to the Common Good Christmas Store (see info below), Common Good then finds people to buy items on the list (***that’s where we come in***), so that families are able to go to the Christmas Store and purchase the items at a highly discounted price. That way, the kids will still be able to receive gifts on Christmas and parents will still be able to purchase those gifts and therefore give them with dignity.
Below are the five lists we’ve committed to providing for families and further information about the Common Good Christmas Store. Also, all proceeds from the wood we are cutting/bundling this Saturday and selling at church will go towards purchasing items from the list as well (if you/your student would like to help this Saturday, please contact me ASAP: 336-689-9635).
